new work features in Prinzhorn Dance School video…

John has completed a new (kinetic) work for the promo video / short film for the new single “Reign” by the band Prinzhorn Dance School (out now on DFA Records, New York) – directed by photographer / film-maker Dean Chalkley. The work comprises a steel structure accomodating a set of turned hardwood marrionettes (with etched steel faces)…

John is currently working on several new pieces – in collaboration with the band Prinzhorn Dance School and photographer / film-maker Dean Chalkley – for inclusion in a forthcoming film and promotional campaign with DFA Records in New York. More news here soon.

“TEO”

New sculpture “TEO” (which recognises the work of Thomas Ellis Owen, a 19th Century architect, engineer and developer) has now been installed. The new piece was unveiled by Henry Pythian-Adams, great-great-grandson of Thomas Ellis Owen, at the University of Portsmouth Library, Ravelin Park. The event was covered by various media including BBC news.
