intoLACE – artists & makers whose work references lace

The Devon Guild of Craftsmen and Thelma Hulbert Gallery in Honiton are working in partnership staging an exciting exhibition which challenges preconceived ideas of ‘lace’.
This show explores the ways contemporary artist-makers reference and use the material in their work. Straddling both venues intoLACE presents 22 artists overall, who seek to examine the historic uses and values of lace with particular reference to Honiton lace at the Hulbert. Exhibits at the Guild feature fabric-wrapped ceramic, photograms, glass-encased lace, sun-prints through lace, laser-cut paper sculpture and delicate jewellery.
