Sculpture, drawing, digital prints and sketchbooks were shown amongst the Christ Church Picture Gallery’s existing collection that includes nationally important Old Master drawing and Italian painting from the 14th-18th century.
The extensive display of digital prints collated both research sketches and subsequent studies which allowed visitors to follow the motifs within the sculpture and make links to the origins of the work
Etched steel sculptures were mounted on coloured fabric and wood plinths raised on metal mesh columns giving a richly textured presence to the work that was in keeping with the qualities of the existing collection. The imagery often combining the mechanical and the organic -an example being cow, calcium & carbon.
Plant colonization and radical scientific interventions are the issues that were pertinent to the artists experience during a residency at the Oxford University Botanic Garden and Plant Sciences Department.
